The anticipation is over. EA Sports NCAA Football 13 is now on sale at Walmart and my family has a copy. We’ve been playing since Friday and are really excited by the fantastic upgrades that were made this year. I ran to Walmart Friday and picked up our copy. Feel free to have a look at my Walmart Xbox360 NCAA Football 13 shopping trip on Google plus. My son was so excited when he saw it in the case he couldn’t wait to bring it home to play with his big brother.

In case you have never shopped at Walmart for video games before know that they have a wide selection of games at great prices.  The cashier insisted we purchase the game at the Electronics register before proceeding for the rest of our shopping. After our purchase we headed to the front to pay for my grocery’s and went home to play the game.

I noticed in the store this cool banner in the video game isle. Says you can add your photo to the EA You’re Covered Facebook app at www.easports.com/yourecovered to create a customized NCAA Football 13 game cover featuring any person you’d like, such as yourself, a friend or child.

The app lets users upload a photo into the face of one of their favorite teams, and then save it and print it out at home. How neat is that? You’ll have a blast giving one of your football-loving kids a copy of the new game with their face on the cover! Just like I did with my oldest son. Pretty cool if I must say so.

 NCAA13 – What’s new and exciting

Heisman Challenge—Win it for your school as you play as one of 10 former Heisman Trophy winners under center, in the backfield, or split wide, see if you can utilize his legendary skills for your favorite college team in a quest to match his award-winning historical performances and win the Heisman Trophy once again.   Choose from the following former Heisman greats:
·         Robert Griffin III
·         Doug Flutie
·         Herschel Walker
·         Marcus Allen
·         Charlie Ward
·         Barry Sanders
·         Desmond Howard
·         Eddie George
·         Carson Palmer
·         Andre Ware

An All-New Passing Game—A revolutionary passing system brings added authenticity to the Quarterback position from ball trajectory to play action pass to the option. Enhanced receiver control puts you in position to make a play on the ball and new read and react defensive coverage delivers greater realism on the gridiron.

Reaction Time—Great players see and feel the game differently. With Reaction Time, the game slows down during key moments, increasing your on-field awareness and opening up more opportunities as you sense things before they happen.

Dynamic Dynasty—Recruiting goes deeper than ever with the addition of dynamic recruiting pitches. For the first time ever, your recruiting grades can change each week based on your performance in Dynasty mode. In addition, Gameday Saturdays come to life with live studio updates and enhanced commentary by Rece Davis.

Our Review thoughts:

EA Sports NCAA Football 13 graphics are better than the 12 version. The players move better and the weather can have a major effect on the players when they play. For example when its raining on the field the playing field is slippery this effects your players movement. Not only does it effect their movement but it effects their throwing ability, their receiving ability, too.

The player engines are also enhanced. Meaning the players move with a smoother grace. What I really think is cool is when you play against a rival time and at their field the quarterbacks confidence level is low but as he continues to play through the game his confidence grows and he makes better throws as long as he is making solid passes and big plays.

In Dynasty mode, which is career mode, where you can pick a team and play through multiple seasons. The NCAA Football 13 allows you to recruit new players throughout the season just like in a natural drafting. I found the steps in this game much easier than in the previous version. It allows you to sway players votes from other schools to make your school look more appealing so that the will choose your school. You can make phone calls to the players to promote your team to offer bonus if they chose to play for your team. This will move your ranking up on their preferred school selection.

Heisman Challenge mode: Recreates your Heisman winners bigger moments by completing each one of these goals. When your player matches the stats that the actual player did in real life it gets you one step closer to winning the Heisman trophy award. In the Heisman challenge they added reaction time which is a feature that slows
the play mode. I like this and think is a cool feature.

Overall Final game thoughts on EA Sports NCAA 13 Review:

It really melts my heart to see my two boys, oldest and youngest, spending quality time together. There’s not much that can bring these two together other than games of common interest and Xbox 360 is one of them along with Kinect being the other.  Our family game night is weekly and though we always can’t agree on what game we will play that evening the most important this is spending time with each other.

We can definitely see a difference in the graphics and game mode core engine play from last year to this year. My oldest son plays this game a lot. He’s the big gamer and many of thoughts provided are mostly his.  He says this year is more challenging and exciting. It offers a lot easier play than last years. Overall I thing EA Sports made some great improvements. The game is fun for the whole family and lets siblings enter into a friendly indoor football competition and provides a little bit of coaching from the older siblings to the younger siblings. Never to early to develop a love for football or for video game playing.
